# E.14 StripLineComments The `StripLineComments` filter removes all line comments from the stream passed through the filter chain: ``` <filterchain> <striplinecomments> <comment value="#" /> <comment value="--" /> <comment value="//" /> </striplinecomments> </filterchain> ``` E.14.1 Nested tags The `striplinecomments` tag must contain one or more `comment` tags. These must have a `value` attribute that specifies the character(s) that start a line comment.
